 | DOJ Firearms Unit Advisory - Friday, October 28, 2011The DOJ Firearms Unit recently advised that the California Law Revision Committee (CLRC) has finished compiling their recommendations for the renumbering of most of the current Penal Code Sections associated with Deadly Weapons. The CLRC Report titled "Non substantive Reorganization of Deadly Weapons Statutes" is now complete and was recently approved by the powers that be.
The renumbering will become effective during 2012. This means many of our pre-printed forms, which refer to any of the Deadly Weapons Sections of the Penal Code, will probably be obsolete soon after the beginning of 2012. The hope is the DOJ will be publishing a cross-reference list in the new future.
Here is the link to the 1000 page report:

Additionally, the new Weapons Sections are currently featured in the 2011 Penal Code as Sections 16000 P.C. through 34370 P.C., however they do not become active until 1/1/2012. | |
