Norman Pawchuk is a Criminalist III, assigned to the Firearms Section at the San Diego County Sheriff's Department Crime Laboratory. During his 24 year career as a Criminalist, he oversees technical operations of the Firearms Analysis Unit; maintains policy and procedure manuals; procures and maintains necessary instrumentation; trains personnel; reviews technical reports; and performs firearm casework as described under Principle Duties of a Criminalist.

Mr. Pawchuk's Trainings & Qualifications during his 24+ year career with the San Diego Sheriff's Department include:
  • California Assault Weapon Determination - Instructor
  • Collection of Firearm Evidence at Crime Scene –Instructor
  • NRA Certified Pistol – Instructor
  • San Diego County Sheriff's Department Weapons Training Unit – Assistant
  • Firearms Range Safety Officer Training and Certification
  • Armorer's Course and Certification for Ruger Pistol and Mini-14 Rifles
  • Armorer's Course and Certification for GLOCK Pistols
  • Heckler & Koch MP5/G36/USP/LEM Armorer's Course and Certification
